A week in "la Provence"
France, my France how are you changing.
Where has all the garbage disappeared to, that used to be lying around along the road. Where do all the new sorts of bread come from? Who marked all those new hiking trails reliably.
Amazing!
But on the other hand - what happened to the restaurant culture?
The restaurants in the pretty city centers all closed or empty and the faceless restaurant chains in the commercial districts packed with young people.
But nothing in between. Its hamburger or pizza or chinese takeaways or its haute cuisine. The latter being too expensive for everyday dinner and the other too basic.
I believe it would be easier to find a simple, but good restaurant in Great Britain or Germany, than in France.
